Butterfly or Moth
What caught my eye: Is that a moth or a butterfly? Turns out it’s a Woodland Skipper (Ochlodes sylvanoides) which is neither a moth nor a butterfly. I think the flower is Rubber Rabbitbush (Ericameria nauseosa). Who names these things? This little guy sat for a long time and let me take photos. Don’t miss the additional photo below.

That’s not a tongue but a proboscis, it’s like an elongated mouth.
