Should We Have Taken That Road?
We had only been home a single day when we decided we needed to actually try out the camper before we took in back for its first warranty check. We loaded up food and clothes and drove to a local State Forest near home and found a secluded green spot. It didn’t take us long to realize all the little things that would make an extended stay in the camper more convenient. The next morning, since we were only an hour out of town, we headed home to pick up a few things. Along the way we decided to take the scenic route. We know that “roads” and “trails” are not the same thing, especially around Montrose. We also know that most trails that need purpose built vehicles usually have signs warning travelers. We decided, since we had the equipment to safely navigate the trail and the trailer needed a little testing, we would take the first section of the Rim Road headed back to town.
It started as a pleasant gravel road. As you get closer to town it gets bumpy. Time to stop and air down! Nothing shook loose on the trailer and it has now been tested prior to its first checkup. Once we reached home it was time for a scavenger hunt. Then back to a new camp site just down the road from the first one but by an easier ROAD. And on the way there, practice backing a trailer! Sorry, embarrassing videos of the practice sessions are not permitted!
